Research Point: Special Characters
The alphabet is only part of a typeface that contains lots of different characters such as number, punctuation, mathematical and monetary symbols and ligatures. Explore your computer to find some of the other characters. You will need to use your shift, alt (option) and ctrl keys.

I also looked at special characters available in certain fonts, some of which can be seen below:







The second part of this Research Point required using the website www.identifont.com to identify the body text and headline fonts used in a magazine. I tried this several times (and some other font identifying websites), but was unable to find the correct fonts. However, I do regularly look at font usage and am beginning to notice distinguishing characteristics. I will continue to try and find another method for identifying fonts.
