Research Point: Critiquing Your Work

How do you approach being self-critical? What issues does it raise? Do you have friends, family, colleagues or a group who will critique your work for you?

I try to make sure I regularly look back at the brief to make sure I haven’t gone off at a tangent with my ideas. As I am not experienced, I often doubt my abilities or understanding of what is being asked of me. Sometimes it can be useful to leave work for a day or two and view it with fresh eyes, otherwise it can be easy to get frustrated. I am usually very critical of my work and want everything to be of a high standard, which can be both good and bad for productivity. I am always open to constructive criticism from family (although this can be bias!) or the clients I have had so far. I will also look into using the OCA forums/Facebook for feedback. I am always trying to increase my skills and knowledge so try to see any criticisms as opportunities for improvement.
