Exercise: Picture Charades

This exercise required me to try to communicate the title of various films using only drawing (no speaking or words allowed).

I tested my attempts on my brother and he guessed them all, so I was quite happy with the result. I enjoyed doing this exercise as I had to really think about how best to communicate without using words to represent something that can be interpreted very differently. What I may consider obvious, might not match up with another person’s concepts. I found it was best to keep the images as simple as possible and using arrows as indicators was also useful. I based the drawing for the shark from Jaws on the original film poster as it is such a well-known image, so this seemed like the easiest way to represent that film.
