There has been an ongoing personal matter that meant I had not been able to work on my studies since January 2024. I requested an extension/deferral as I was absolutely unable to commit any time to my studies.
My course was the the last thing on my mind at that point and I wasn’t sure if I would be able to return to it, but at the beginning of 2025 I was able to gradually allocate a very limited amount of time to my studies.
I had already been leaving the Critical Review as long as possible prior to all of this as I was finding it such a challenge to narrow down my subject options, especially the ultimate title/question of the review. Being forced to get on with this actually worked in my favour and meant I had to really focus on my idea and just make a start. I have no idea if the final Critical Review I produced is what is required or of a very high standard, but I genuinely enjoyed and learnt so much from all of the reading, compiling information, writing and editing of the text.
The same method was followed for reaching a decision for Assignment 5 – just get on with it. There could be no dithering involved, which ultimately meant I could not explore alternative options, but I am glad that I managed to produce something to submit rather than the alternative of not completing the course.
