Currently most of the content for my Visual Diary is digitally based, although I do have some items I have found in physical formats on a pinboard.
I have steadily built up a section of creative individuals that I follow on Instagram, over 100 to date, which I find a great way of regularly viewing current work by practitioners that I admire. I can then follow up on any posts that are of particular interest. Instagram is the generally only form of social media that I find appealing due to it being image-based rather than text.
I also have built up a selection of pinboards in Pinterest. Although most of the pinboards have been related to particular exercises/assignments throughout the course, I regularly return for inspiration. This is a tool I will try to incorporate into all of my work.
I have recently acquired a phone with a more decent camera than my previous one. I hope to use this to start taking photos on a more regular basis of anything that captures my eye. I will post some of these either on Instagram or directly here on my Learning Log.
Additionally, I have countless bookmarks saved in my browser of various creative content, whether that be an illustrator’s portfolio, a tutorial or just a certain image that has resonated with me.
